iso-Tridecyl Methacrylate (C13MA)

iso-Tridecyl Methacrylate (C13MA) is an ester of methacrylic acid and is used as a raw material component in the synthesis of polymers. The ester is a hydrophobic monofunctional monomer with a low glass transition temperature (Tg) and hence is excellent as a flexible and plasticizing monomer. It forms homopolymers and copolymers which can be obtained from acrylic acid and its salts, amides, and esters, etc. It is a very useful starting material for chemical synthesis since it easily undergoes addition reactions with a wide spectrum of organic and inorganic compounds.

iso-Tridecyl Methacrylate (C13MA) is also a useful monomer in applications such as anaerobic adhesives, vacuum impregnation sealants, high solids acrylic polyols for automotive coatings. If offers low viscosity and low odor combined with low shrinkage on polymerization.
